Abstract:
"The formation of cities and urban communities is a natural process
that develops over time. The formation of suburban communities is the
opposite of that. The architecture of these communities directly
reflects that idea. This thesis investigates what, architecturally, creates these
perceptive differences and thus, is responsible for the current day
migration of millennials from the suburbs to downtown. This thesis is an
attempt to create an urban center in the suburbs that evokes an idea of
a lasting sense of place in order to bring the millennials back
to the suburbs."
