Abstract:
|
"This thesis will showcase different cultures around the world and intertwine them into a live action film design for The Lion King as well as examine the film’s relation to the original Hamlet story that first inspired the animated film. In Liberia, there have been ongoing disputes between local communities and Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) for almost a decade. The thesis will intertwine the disputes and their effects on the community with the plot for this version of The Lion King so that it is rooted in Liberia. The second half of the paper dives into the process behind the production design. It will cover the research, planning, design and issues that came up when crafting this project."
