Abstract:
"This thesis will study how understanding nonverbal communication can enhance our
understanding of human behavior, which will in turn improve our approach towards
animation. Understanding the psychology of communicating can also be beneficial when
trying to influence the audience’s response to a character’s performance. We will explore
brief studies on the brain, analyze human behavior and the science behind it, and
determine how this information can improve a character’s performance and the
audience’s reception towards them. We will not be discovering any new information in a
field, but instead be connecting two mediums of study: psychology and animation."
