Abstract:
|
"This thesis tracks my rehearsal and production process utilizing Sanford Meisner's principles for my portrayal of Anna in Patrick Marber's 1997 play, 'Closer,' as performed at The Savannah College of Art and Design. 'Closer' garnered acclaim and critique for its raw depiction of relationships and infidelity. Meisner's acting methodology has its basis in relationship onstage, demanding spontaneous response. This thesis chronicles my journey to employ Meisner technique in my work, focusing on repetition and spontaneous response, in an attempt to ultimately develop my own personal, Meisner-based process." --Abstract
