"This thesis will be a research project on how religion plays a role in comic books. The research will involve examples of 'acceptable' religious content when considering comic book readers' tolerance level. The study will contain a comparison and analysis of the use of religion in various titles from independent to mainstream comics. The research will uncover how the creator uses the portrayal of faith in characters. The reader will see religion depicted either negatively or positively and how the artists use visual imagery to convey these ideas and the effects on the protagonist. All of the arguments should describe how the titles' creators depict religion and the context, including the audience's reaction." --Abstract
