Abstract:
|
Through the use of symbolic, photographic representation, I portray the conditions of
young immigrants adapting to their new environment. As the world becomes centered
around the built environment, it is relevant to explore the elements within—especially
transplanted trees—as they metaphorically suggest immigrants who move from one
place to another. Further focusing on young transplants, it is possible to reference the
children of immigrants who were involuntarily moved to a new environment. By utilizing
anthropomorphism, the transplanted trees become analogous to young immigrants and
allow expression through symbolic representation.
