Abstract:
"Memories and time exist within our creations as artists. This thesis is an exploration of the concept of time and existence through exploration of mixed media paintings. This body of work includes paintings that hold physical elements relating to my own personal memories. This includes but is not limited to: writings from my own journals, pieces of deconstructed old artworks and layers of paint, paper and etchings. All of these elements I utilize create tension across the surfaces of the panels and hold true to my own depiction of how I perceive time, time capsuling and memory. The paintings function as a remedy for my own personal disassociation with the incomprehensible abstract concepts of our existence within time and memory. My hope is that these paintings open a dialogue for others who contemplate their existence in the same ways." -- Abstract
