Abstract:
“Electricity is a workplace hazard that can lead to serious injuries and even fatalities if workers are not properly trained on how to protect themselves from the conditions found in their workplace. In large organizations, like the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), training employees to work safely around electricity is a critical requirement for maintaining their workers’ overall safety. Research suggests that, in many cases, humoristic approaches towards the subject being taught can produce psychological and physiological benefits that help students learn and better retain the information. No matter the subject, students tend to prefer entertainment during their lessons. Research has also shown that a humorous approach is an attractive method used to communicate with students. This thesis will discuss the matter of visual learners and how the use of visual materials such as animated cartoons and posters can help benefit the learning process in the classroom. The goal is to reach a better understanding of the effectiveness of the learning experience/process that will have a direct effect on the comprehension of students.” –Abstract
