Abstract:
“This thesis argues that animation is a powerful means of mass communication that it can disseminate complex technical and intellectual information through visual narratives. Animation can combine multiple concepts without being weighed down by lengthy, detailed explanations and transmit those concepts quickly and efficiently. Using animated characters, it is possible to engage with an audience on an intimate level by creating an emotional bond between the story and the viewer. United Productions of America, Halas & Batchelor Cartoons, and Aardman Animation are three animation studios that are discussed in this paper and highlight the methods they employed to develop modern visual design as a way of quickly communicating to a wide audience.” –Abstract
