Abstract:
“This thesis will examine the application of time travel in animated works, focusing on distinguishing the various types of time travel structures. Although time travel is a popular plot device in the animation genre, the structures of these stories are different. Based on the characters’ motives and plot development, screenwriters can select the most appropriate timeline structure for their script. By analyzing the use of three timeline structures in animation, this thesis aims to provide insight into how writers can effectively conceptualize the writing direction and choose the most suitable structure for their animation projects by deconstructing the concept of time travel.” –Abstract
