“In an era where animated feature films transcend geographical boundaries as a universal art form, the portrayal of diverse cultural elements often succumbs to the influence of Eurocentric design principles. This leads to both the simplification and distortion of non-Western cultures, crafted to cater to Western audiences. Such misrepresentations not only perpetuate stereotypes but also compromise the integrity of cultural identities. This thesis embarks on a critical exploration of these challenges, delving into their implications, and underscores the pressing need for an enhanced cultural understanding and authentic representation within the animated media landscape.” –Abstract
