Abstract:
“Studio furniture makers and designers have a long history of challenging our assumptions about what furniture can, and should, look like. They also have an ability to communicate emotions of all kinds in their work. This thesis extends that work to inspire and connect with a new audience. The three pieces in this collection draw their inspiration from three emotional themes associated with grief: isolation, regret and promise. Each piece uses the language of furniture as design vocabulary to communicate these themes.” –Abstract
