Abstract:
“In the Chinese indie game industry, there exists a trend of art style imitation among 2D narrative game developers, wherein they often replicate existing art styles, such as Japanese Anime Style, rather than exploring diverse artistic expressions. By developing a series of interactive picture book aesthetic illustrations, this thesis aims to offer new perspectives on designing indie 2D narrative games. The focus of this thesis is to inspire creativity within the Chinese 2D indie game industry by providing alternative artistic approaches.” –Abstract
