Abstract:
“This thesis investigates the intersection of process, materiality, and storytelling, culminating in the exhibition Water Resistant Cowboy. Grounded in experimentation and a deep respect for found objects, the work reimagines the ordinary as a site of transformation. Drawing on personal experiences and cross-cultural encounters, it examines how the mundane can become sacred and how material interactions shape our connection to the environment. What began in shared studio spaces evolved into a practice of immersion—engaging with space, time, and discarded materials in ways that invite reflection and reinterpretation. This journey culminated in a shrine-like installation at Bululu in Savannah, Georgia, on October 26, 2024. The exhibition is an example of the power of reimagined materials to tell stories that transcend boundaries, revealing hidden narratives and possibilities.” –Abstract
